Having missed last year’s annual conference in Dresden at the last minute due to illness, I am all the more delighted to be attending this year’s event in Darmstadt.
The programme is once again very exciting and varied! I’m particularly looking forward to Dr Andreas Kraushaar’s workshop ‘Measuring in Images’, the HDR lecture by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Florian Süßl, and the insights into ‘Perzabsolut’ from Dr Moritz Feil. As we discovered at the last Colour Management Symposium in Munich, Moritz Feil – whilst working at the Technical University of Munich – set and marked exam papers for one of my godchildren. It’s always heartening to realise just how wonderfully small our big world can be, time and again.

A few years ago, I had already briefly attended an annual conference as a speaker alongside Holger Everding from freieFarbe e.V.: What fascinated me even back then, as a practitioner in the field of colour-accurate printing, were, in particular, the presentations by speakers whose expertise extended beyond my own areas of knowledge and offered fascinating insights into other technologies and fields of research.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to my colleagues at the Proof GmbH office, who continue to produce and dispatch our customers’ orders reliably and on time even whilst I am away – whether at the Fogra Colour Management Symposium or the annual conference of the Society for Colour Science.
