Flexographic printing is a printing process that is primarily used in the packaging industry. It is an indirect gravure printing process in which flexible printing plates are used that enable printing on many materials such as films, paper, cardboard, labels and other packaging materials.
Flexographic printing stands for high productivity and versatility:
- Substrates: Flexographic printing is suitable for a wide range of printing substrates. It can print on different surface structures such as rough or uneven surfaces.
- Printing speed: Flexographic printing enables fast printing speeds, which is important in the production of packaging.
- Colour intensity: Flexographic printing produces bright colours with good colour coverage.
- Flexible printing plates made of rubber or plastic are used in flexographic printing. These plates are relatively inexpensive to produce and can be customised to suit different printing requirements.
- Flexographic printing mainly uses water-based inks and varnishes, which are more environmentally friendly and solvent-free.
Flexographic printing is often used for the production of labels and packaging.

In recent years, various problems have arisen with our previous proof paper supplier. On the one hand, we sometimes had to wait more than three months for paper deliveries; on the other hand, we sometimes had significant problems with batch-to-batch discrepancies, surface defects and much more.
